What to do in case of emergency
In case of an emergency or if you experience an injury to your hand, finger, or upper extremity, whether it's related to soft tissue damage or a fracture, we urge you to seek immediate medical attention.
Dr. Jonathan Lee regularly attends to emergency cases at the Emergency Departments of the following hospitals:
Mount Elizabeth Hospital 3 Mount Elizabeth, Singapore 228510
Gleneagles Hospital 6A Napier Road, Singapore 258500
Parkway East Hospital (formerly East Shore Hospital) 321 Joo Chiat Place, Singapore 427990
Mount Alvernia Hospital 820 Thomson Road, Singapore 574623
Call ahead and Dr. Lee will meet you at the Emergency Department of your chosen hospital, or ask for Dr. Jonathan Lee (Hand Surgeon) by name when you arrive at the Emergency Department.
If the emergency occurs “after hours” or on the weekend, we suggest you still contact us first and we will give you precise directions to manage the injury. Tell our receptionist that you have a hand or upper extremity injury and she will promptly direct you to one of our nearest surgical facilities or emergency rooms.
In addition to our “in office” surgery rooms, our clinic works very closely with the Parkway Group of Hospitals and Mount Alvernia Hospital, which all have full-service facilities, modern fully equipped operating rooms, comfortable in-patient and day surgery facilities. You will be given absolute priority treatment.
Rather than going to a hospital emergency room and possibly waiting for hours to be treated by an on-call physician who may or may not have specialised training in hand surgery and microvascular surgery, you will benefit from involving Dr. Jonathan Lee in your care right away.
There are no regulations that require hospital emergency rooms to provide an injured person with a fully trained hand surgeon. Although Orthopedic, general and plastic surgeons have had some training in hand surgery (and are often the ones called to the emergency room), they do not have the extensive training of a fully qualified hand or microvascular surgeon, which includes dedicated hand surgery and micro-surgical training.
We treat everyone, from children to seniors. When you call, be sure to immediately tell our receptionist that you have an emergency and you need to be seen right away by Dr. Lee. We treat broken bones, soft tissue injuries and amputations - any injury, in fact, to the hand or upper extremity is the specialty of hand surgery.
The quality of the initial treatment you receive will affect your outcome. Call us immediately in case of an emergency.
